Yes, it has been quiet around here. It seems weird to have done Imbolc and not have to post a re-cap of it since I’m done with that requirement!
Still, although I don’t have anything much to post about I thought I’d drop in and say hi. I’m working my way slowly through Puhvel’s Comparative Mythology. I’ve also started the process of editing, having pulled all of my essays together into a single Google doc. I’m trying to get some of the essays down to closer to their minimum word count.
I’ve also started thinking a bit about my Dedicant Oath, and particularly whether I want it to be a solitary rite, or a grove rite, or even as part of an ADF festival rite. I posted on ADF-Discuss mentioning this and asking people if they would share their experiences. Amongst the usual couple of rather condescending responses from people suggesting that I am an idiot since I am obviously incapable of making a decision for myself, most people seemed to lean towards a solitary Oath. I think I am leaning that way myself, but at the same time my involvement with my local grove has shown me how powerful community ritual can be. The only thing is that there are really no other actual ADF Dedicants (or post-Dedicants) in my grove and therefore I don’t think they would really understand the the relevance of the Oath. So, probably a solitary rite it shall be.

Weird, I was just thinking it’d been awhile since you posted, I figured you were probably busy finishing up the DP work…and turns out I was kinda right. 🙂 I hope you had a good Imbolc too. The Puhvel book is on my list for someday, it looks interesting and I hope you enjoy it.
The ‘you must be an idiot’ posts are less common on ADF lists than elsewhere, but it’s such a sad inevitability of online interactions.
Congratulations on having all the DP work done. I’m far behind where I wanted to be at this point. I think the mental discipline requirement is holding me back.
